Our reserves are again named as being amongst the best in Britain.

A record 1600 parks and green spaces across the UK received either the Green Flag Award or the Green Flag Community Award this year.

The chairman of The Friends of Bramcote Ridge said,

"We are delighted to receive a Green Flag Community Award for what is now an eighth consecutive year. The award recognises and highlights that people in Bramcote and Wollaton are benefitting from a green space area of the highest quality. This a testament to the efforts of the volunteers who work to maintain the high standards demanded by the award scheme. The Friends group is very grateful for the excellent support they receive from Broxtowe Borough Council."

The scheme is run by the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Department of Communities and Local Government.
