On a cold morning we had an excellent turnout of 16 members so were able to tackle some quite strenuous jobs.
- More work was done on the double avenue of trees we started on last month. Today we cut down all the trees which had grown in the centre of the avenue which were mostly fairly small in thickness but two were fully mature and took three people to finally get these down and then sawn into smaller sections so they could be lifted away.
- An area at the beginning of the Markham Road site was cleared of numerous small trees and shrubs opening up this area to allow grasses to grow and become suitable for butterfly's next year.
- The two circular plots at the entrance to the Markham Road site were thoroughly forked over removing tree roots and rubble. These will be planted with bulbs suitable for bees next month.
- As always both reserves were cleared of litter.
