We are delighted to report that our two Local Nature Reserves have gained the Green Flag Community Award for 2017/2018. This is now the ninth consecutive year we have received this award in recognition of the work we do over the year to maintain the sites.

A record number of parks and green spaces have this year been recognised by the Green Flag Award Scheme. This award, now into its third decade, is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible environmental standards and is well maintained.

Norman Clyde-Watson, the chairman of Friends of Bramcote Ridge, said,

"We are absolutely delighted to receive this award for a ninth consecutive year. We know how much quality green spaces matter to local residents and visitors and this award also celebrates the hard work that goes into maintaining our two reserves to a high standard."

The Friends are very grateful for the excellent support they receive from Broxtowe Borough Council."

The scheme is run by the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Department of Communities and Local Government.

The Friends are always looking for extra pairs of hands to help out or to simply support their work, so...
