We had 9 members this morning and the jobs completed were as follows:
-
120 wild daffodil bulbs were planted on Alexandrina Plantation in the perennial wildflower area.
-
Two trees on the Markham Rd reserve were cut down and cleared. One had fallen across a path and the other was just being held up by another tree and was in danger of soon collapsing onto another path. Both these trees were dead and the weight of the Ivy coverings them combined with the recent strong winds had caused there collapse.
-
The bridle path was once again cleared even though we still are awaiting the main leaf drop as there was already a lot of tree debris on the path making it quite slippery. Local passers- by were very appreciative of this being cleared.
-
The usual litter collection was completed on both our reserves.
The Friends are always looking for extra pairs of hands to help out or to simply support their work, so...
