We had 12 members this morning on what was a really pleasant autumn day.
The main job this morning was clearing out the existing bird boxes, removing any that needed repair, and erecting two new boxes. This was completed and all the boxes had been used with only one where the bird had been disturbed and had abandoned the next with five eggs left. We also:-
- Cleared a large piece of Russian vine that had appeared on the edge of the wildflower area near the Sandy Lane entrance.
- Broom was removed from the perennial wildflower area a bit further along.
- Two replacement sections of wooden edging were installed alongside the path of the wildflower area.
- Some low hanging branches were cut back on the main path leading from Thoresby Rd.
- The usual litter picking was completed on both our reserves.
