We had another good turnout this morning with 12 members attending. We also had the Mayor of Broxtowe, Chris Riley from the Council and one of the Bramcote councillors come along too.
Chris spoke to us about future plans for developing the different habitats to make the areas more suitable for the various pollinators and other species. He brought with him various seed mixes, plug plants of birds-foot trefoil and a selection of bulbs including wild garlic and wood anemones.
Most of the group spent the morning scarifying areas of the grassland for the perennial seeds that were sown... ...and then planting the various bulbs in suitable locations. We did also manage to sweep the steps leading down to Thoresby Rd and the usual litter pick of both reserves was carried out.
Once again we were lucky with the weather as after quite heavy rain until dawn we then had a bright morning with the rain returning mid afternoon.
