We had an excellent turnout of 15 volunteers for this morning’s work session, so were able to complete all the scheduled jobs for this month which included the following:

  • Overhanging and collapsed vegetation on the path leading from the entrance on Thoresby Road were cleared 2. The areas around where the hazel trees which were planted two years ago was cleared of bramble so you can now see where the bulbs are emerging.
  • The area alongside the hedge that was layed several years ago had not been cleared on the path side and this was cleared of dead bracken, cow parsley etc so the primroses and cowslips could see some daylight and be visible for anyone to enjoy.
  • The 6 new poster board’s confirming our Green Flag Community Award for 2021/2022 were erected.
  • The litter pick on both reserves was completed and the various signs were all cleaned.

Again we were lucky with the weather after heavy rain until about 8.00am and just after we finished heavy showers returned.

The Friends are always looking for extra pairs of hands to help out or to simply support their work, so...
