We had 13 members this morning plus three young children being supervised by their parents.
It was a pleasant November morning which also saw the first Redwings of the autumn arrive. The litter picking was carried out as usual but the rest of the group spent the morning clearing the worst of the weeds from the wildflower area at the entrance from Sandy Lane. After most of the area was cleared a mixture of wildflower seed was sown which should mean we get an earlier flowering of plants next year. All the seed sown was sourced from a local supplier where the seed is collected from locally grown wildflowers.
The area was then gently raked over and with the soil being moist and a bit more rain due midweek they hopefully will have a good chance of establishing themselves.
