The two local nature reserves managed by The Friends of Bramcote Ridge have, once again, been awarded the Green Flag Community Award for 2018-2019. This is the tenth consecutive year they have obtained this award, and it is a fitting tribute to the hard working volunteers who regularly devote their time throughout the year to help keep the site in great condition.

The Chair of The Friends of Bramcote Ridge said,

I am pleased to announce that we have received our tenth consecutive Green Flag Community Award. We have scored the highest pass-mark range possible for the first time so this makes 2018 a very special year. The judge commented, "The Friends of Bramcote Ridge are a shining example of a hard-working and dedicated community group who really care for their local green spaces."

My thanks as always go to the committee, the members who attend the working sessions, the members who support us throughout the year and the team at Broxtowe Borough Council.

A brilliant result, well done The Friends!

The Friends are very grateful for the continuing support and advice given to them by Broxtowe Borough Council, who is the landowner of the two sites.

The Green Flag scheme is run by the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Department for Communities and Local Government, and this year has seen a record number of awards. These awards are a mark of quality for parks or green spaces.
