We had 8 volunteers for this morning’s working session and the following jobs were completed:
- The 8 remaining bird boxes were cleaned out and disinfected. Again all but one had been used so over the last two months 20 of the 22 boxes were used. No repair’s needed this year so they’re already for next year’s breeding season.
- A large area surrounding all the hazel trees planted five years ago was cleared and many of these have already reached a good size.
- The Laurel trees alongside the path near Brookside Ave entrance were cut back to a substantial height.
- The usual litter collection was copleted on both reserves.
The Friends are always looking for extra pairs of hands to help out or to simply support their work, so...
