We had 8 members this morning which was a bit less than normal but perhaps because it was a bank holiday weekend and the weather was really pleasant.

All the work was concentrated on the Markham Road site when the following jobs were completed

  • The primroses and cowslips that were planted quite a few years ago had developed into some quite large clumps and were ready for dividing into smaller plants. Gaps along the hedgerow were filled in and quite a few were planted on the grassland side of the hedge.

  • A tree that had fallen across the path at the far end of this reserve was cut down and the path cleared.
  • Bramble and bracken that was growing near to the newly planted trees was pulled out and other areas in and around the grassland area were also cleared. 2024-05b
  • The usual litter collection was completed on both reserves.

The Friends are always looking for extra pairs of hands to help out or to simply support their work, so...
