Today should have been our normal working session but obviously with the continuing restrictions in place this was not possible, and sadly may not be for some time to come. The important thing is of course to comply with these restrictions and keep individuals and others safe.

Even though the two wildflower areas had not been rotovated, Helene and Andy (who are both younger members) raked both these areas today and sowed the seed, whilst strictly adhering to the social distancing guidelines. We had decided that we had nothing to lose as Broxtowe Council had supplied the seed free of charge this year as it was part of last year’s supply but still viable.

With the ground not being properly prepared beforehand and with another dry week ahead forecast the display will almost certainly not be as good as previous years.

We are very grateful to Helene and Andy for this morning’s effort in these challenging and uncertain times.
