Despite this being a bank holiday weekend, and with several of our regulars being away for the weekend, we still managed a group of eight members along with the 7-year-old grandson of one of our members.

Today we planted 26 field poppy modules in the two areas already seeded at the entrance to the Markham Rd site and these were then watered in.

The rest of the woodland seed mixture was sown along the grassland side of the recently laid hedge as on Friday the Council's contractor had carried out the harrowing of the whole grassland area under restoration.

Most of our group spent the morning clearing weeds from the bottom of the new hedge as recommended by Chris Dean who did the hedge laying last year.
